Relevant Observations
in the context of Copyright & Sharing
• To this date, TreePad has been the only software company authorized by MieNet to offer MieNet's Free Icons to its users, as a seamless complement to the software (MieNet's special courtesy, in appreciation for the most useful software I've ever owned).
The TPZ version of every Icon Library offered by MieNet suffices to indicate that! (The TPZ Icon Libraries are ready for plug-n-play, on TreePad!)
TreePad users, however, are sent to MieNet in order to download the Icon Libraries they wish, even though these Libraries are also announced on the TreePad Web site (with MieNet's consent).
It is relevant to re-state that Registered TreePad users are not requested to link to MieNet, nor acknowledge their use of MieNet's Free Icons, when these Icons are used on a Web page generated with their registered TreePad software. (Please see MieNet's original Icons Terms of Use, from 2002, for a similar statement.)
Registered TreePad users are welcome to consider MieNet's TPZ Icon Libraries as an extension of their TreePad software.
These Registered TreePad users are of course very welcome to link to MieNet, if they so wish, and the link will then be gladly returned!
• Other than the above, [1] Icon Free Download has MieNet's consent to mirror MieNet's Free Icons Section, and [2] WinSite is an authorized download location for all of MieNet's Free Icons, Cursors, Desktop Wallpaper and eBooks.
MieNet no longer makes use of WinSite, as a direct download location. But this is only as a result of the increasing number of windows and screens appearing, before a file is finally downloaded – in other words, the decision to discontinue sending MieNet's visitors to download at WinSite was simply motivated by your convenience!
However, WinSite remains an authorized download location, for the time being, and continues being updated, at the same rate as MieNet is.
A convenience which WinSite is able to offer MieNet's visitors is that, if you'd like to have MieNet's Free Downloads on a CD-Rom, they will burn it for you. They will put on the CD all the icons, wallpaper, e-books, etc. (including software) of your choice, for a fair price, as long as it is all stuff available there, on WinSite.
• Important Remarks:
No other site or software company, to date, other than the three above cited (TreePad, Icon Free Download and WinSite), enjoys an authorized connection in regard to MieNet's Free Downloads.
Thus any other Site that may offer MieNet's Free Downloads is doing so without MieNet's knowledge and is responsible for its own updating – please be warned!
Any Site that might be offering any one of MieNet's Free Downloads must necessarily offer [1] the original package for each file at stake, in addition to [2] a direct link to MieNet, beside each of these files! Finally, as also stated on the previous page, whether the packages, or the files therein contained, neither may be altered without MieNet's previous consent
