The

Williams-BMW and

Toyota Teams were disqualified from the Canadian GP: post-race inspection revealed irregularities on the brake ducts of their cars.

So, with the exclusion of

Williams-BMW and

Toyota from the Canadian GP, the following drivers have been demoted also of the points they would otherwise be adding to their Championship tally, after the Canadian GP:

Ralf Schumacher (Williams-BMW), 8 points;

Juan Pablo Montoya (Williams-BMW), 4 points; and

Cristiano da Matta (Toyota), 1 point.

Olivier Panis (Toyota), who had received the final flag in tenth place, of course had no points to lose.

Michael Schumacher (Ferrari) has once more written his name in the Record Books, with his seventh win in a

Canadian GP: he is the first F1 driver ever to have won the same GP seven times. Coincidentally, this was M.Schumacher's 77^th career win. (See the GP of France, too.)
